Catering is where Chicken Salad Chick makes the most sense financially. Once you are feeding ten or more, the per-head cost drops well below what individual meals would cost, and the food travels better than most things you could order for a group — nothing is fried, so nothing arrives soggy.
Ordering runs through a separate system from the regular menu: the catering website, the app, or the catering centre on 1-833-MYCHICK. You cannot add a platter to a normal online order.
The value play
A Mini Croissant Sandwich Platter (~$45.99) plus a large side (~$24.99) plus a gallon of tea (~$9.99) feeds 10–12 people for about $81. The equivalent Group Luncheon package is $109.99. Building it yourself saves roughly $29 for very similar food.

Choosing the right format for your event
Office lunch, 10–25 people
Boxed lunches at $10.99–$13.99 each. Individually labelled, no serving setup, no plates to organise, and people with dietary requirements get their own box. The most expensive per head, and usually worth it for the logistics alone.
Casual gathering, 10–15 people
Mini Croissant Sandwich Platter plus a side plus a gallon of tea. Around $81 total. This is the best-value combination on the catering menu and the one we would order.
Larger buffet, 25–50 people
Scale up with Chicken Salad Bowls ($59.99 each, serves 10–12), croissant trays and multiple sides. Bowls plus bread lets people build their own, which handles varied appetites better than pre-made sandwiches and produces less waste.
Something with a hot element
Soups serve 10–12 for around $44.99. Loaded potato, broccoli & cheese and tomato bisque are the catering options. Worth adding in winter; unnecessary in July.
Dessert for a crowd
Chocolate crispy bites — 50 pieces for about $12.99 — is by a wide margin the cheapest way to put dessert in front of a large group. A whole cake at $54.99 looks better; the bites feed four times as many people. More on the desserts page.
How to order, and how much notice to give
Three routes: the official catering site, the app, or 1-833-MYCHICK. Phone is the more reliable option for anything complicated or time-sensitive, because you are speaking to someone who knows that specific location's capacity.
On lead time, we are going to decline to give you a confident number, because the company does not publish one and it is set franchise by franchise. What we can say is practical: 24 hours minimum for platters, 48 or more for full luncheons, and considerably more around Thanksgiving, Christmas and graduation season. Catering is prepared in-store alongside normal trade — the limit is real kitchen capacity on the day.
Check before you plan around it
Most locations are closed on Sundays and every location closes on Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. If your event falls on or near one of those, confirm early — see our opening hours guide. Prices also vary by franchise, so treat every figure here as a researched midpoint rather than a quote.
Catering for a group with dietary requirements
Three things worth knowing before you order for a crowd:
- Three flavors contain tree nuts — Fancy Nancy and Lauryn's Lemon Basil (pecans), Cranberry Kelli (almonds). Specify if you want them excluded.
- Broccoli salad contains bacon, which surprises vegetarians who assume otherwise.
- There is no gluten-free certification. Ordering bowls plus lettuce rather than sandwiches gives people the option to build without bread, but it is not a safe order for coeliac disease.
Our allergen guide covers all of this in detail, including what genuinely cannot be known from public information.
Catering questions
How much is Chicken Salad Chick catering per person?
Group luncheons that serve 10–12 people cost around $109.99, which works out to roughly $9 to $11 per head for a complete meal. Individually boxed lunches run $10.99–$13.99 each. Platters alone start near $45.99 and come out much cheaper per person — around $4 — but they do not include sides or drinks.
How do I order Chicken Salad Chick catering?
Through the official catering website, through the Chicken Salad Chick app, or by calling the catering centre on 1-833-MYCHICK. Catering is handled separately from regular ordering — you cannot simply add a platter to a normal online order.
How much notice does Chicken Salad Chick catering need?
This is set by the individual franchise rather than centrally, and we have not found a reliable chain-wide figure — so we are not going to invent one. Practically: give at least 24 hours for platters and 48 or more for large luncheons, and more again around holidays. Catering volume is prepared in-store alongside normal trade, so the constraint is real kitchen capacity, not policy.
What is the best value catering option?
For a straightforward lunch, the Mini Croissant Sandwich Platter at around $45.99 serving 10–12 is the strongest value on the list — roughly $4 a head. Add a $24.99 side and a $9.99 gallon of tea and you have fed twelve people properly for about $81, against $109.99 for the equivalent luncheon package.
Does Chicken Salad Chick cater for schools and offices?
Yes to both. The company runs a separate school catering programme, and office drop-off is one of its core catering formats. Boxed lunches are the usual choice for offices because they are individually labelled and need no serving setup.
